About Day 2 Motors

Hi! Welcome to Day 2.

I'd like to think Day 2 is the best Hot Rod shop you've never heard of. It's the place that: If you know, you know. Day 2 is a traditional speed shop. Similar to the old days where the kings of the street and strip were built in a nondescript building with a plain sign that read "Smitty's" or maybe, "Smokey's Best Damn Garage in town". No bright lights, no huge ad campaign or marketing schtick. The only real give away would be when you drove by and saw a garage full of cars your mother warned you about. Perhaps you got lucky and caught up to the guy that smoked you and asked him "What did you do to make this thing so fast?". Maybe he'd point to the nondescript sticker on his quarter window or maybe he wouldn't and just give you a knowing smile, because if you know you know.

People consider the days of 110 Octane fuel at your corner gas station, and cruisin' the local hot spot to be the good old days. I don't disagree, automotively speaking. It was a time where being fast meant more than ordering a tune from somewhere online and throwing a few dollars at an Amazon cart for some Chinese knock off parts and spending a weekend watching a YouTube video. It was a time where car guys (and some girls too), spend all week bent over their fender, trying something different to test it out that weekend at the stoplight. Back then, American V8's ruled the street. Back then cars weren't nondescript eggs that all looked the same and came equipped with climate control and 14 cupholders, multiple charging stations, and heated seats for maximum comfort. Back then every time you drove your car it was an experience. It had a unique sound and a unique smell. It was intrinsically yours and you would recognize it with your eyes closed. If you were lucky enough to have kept that car around until your kids were grown and left the house, those sounds and smell immediately take you back to those days. That car is a time machine and a fountain of youth. Pump the gas, set the choke and with a turn of that key you are immediately 18 again.

If you still have the car, and it hasn't run in 30 years but this is the year that it will; if you had to sell that car because the kids needed to go to college, or you needed something practical for your family then you know why you are here and yes I can help. If you are here for another reason read on, I can probably help you too.

Day 2 Motors is the place you go when your carbureted, American powered car isn't right for whatever reason and no one knows how to fix it. Heck, no one will even try. If you've been told to LS swap it, or carbs are junk get a Sniper system but you know that isn't right for you, then this is the place for you. If you have something that is odd, like a hemi powered Henry J. This is the place for you. Got a Jag with a SBC? Come on down. Want to LS swap your Nova because that's what your friends are all saying you should do? Can't help you with that. I will spend the next hour telling you why you shouldn't though. Day 2 Motors is about more than raw HP. It's about the whole car. You can roll into a car show, open your hood and be just another car with big stupid wheels wrapped in a rubber band and powered by an LS or you can roll in with something that makes babies cry and men swoon. Open your hood and have people stare, awestruck. That is Day 2 Motors. The good old days.... today. If you want to add cupholders and need a charging port, that's fine. It is the 21st century after all. Lets face it, manual steering and a 4 spd will spill your coffee more often than not. Ask me how I know.
